The Macro Button Assistant for Microsoft Excel expands your choice of macro buttons from the smiley face button to over 1700 buttons, as illustrated by the following toolbars (there are a total of eight such toolbars!):

Or create text buttons, as illustrated by the following personal toolbar that has six text buttons that run a set of forecast macros. Text buttons are often better because you can easily see the purpose of the buttons.

When you use the Macro Button Assistant, you can put the button on an existing toolbar or have the Macro Button Assistant create a new toolbar for you. You are then asked to provide a tool button tip for the new button and then the button is added to the specified toolbar.

If you create a new toolbar, you can hide it when done by clicking on the small x in the upper right corner. To redisplay the toolbar, simply select View, Toolbars.

When you click on the new button for the first time, you are prompted for the macro to assign to the new button!
