Finding & correcting fuzzy duplicates and typos in Excel

Fuzzy Duplicates Finder for Excel in detail:

The Fuzzy Duplicates Finder add-in searches for fuzzy duplicates in an Excel table or selected range and it can find all partial duplicates that differ in 1 to 10 characters.

The search results are displayed in the add-in's pane organized into duplicate nodes and allow all possible corrections directly in search results:

• removeduplicates;
• correct all or some of the found duplicates automatically by specifying the correct value;
• correct some of the found fuzzy duplicates manually.

How to eliminate all typos in your workbooks

Fuzzy Duplicate Finder provides a number of additional options for you to tweak the search process according to your needs:

• You can search in a whole list, columns or a selected range.
• You can split data in each cell into words and process each word separately.
• You can exclude from search cells or words with fewer than the specified number of characters.
• You can choose to correct the same values written in a different case, e.g. Excel, excel, EXCEL, or keep them as they are.
• And finally, you can export the search results to another worksheet for reviewing.

Excel Fuzzy Duplicates Finder: How it works

1. Select a cell within a column that you want to check for fuzzy duplicates. To search in several columns or a range of cells, just select them and run Fuzzy Duplicates Finder by clicking on its icon:

2.Specify the maximum number of possible typos, from 1 to 10.

If you want to exclude short words or numbers from search, use the Exclude cells /words with fewer than option to specify the minimum number of characters.

If you want to split the cell's content into separate words and have each word processed individually, check the Split cell data into words option.

Click "Search for Typos" button.

3 To correct typos you can set the right value for all found items in the node or a specific value for each one:

4 Finally, you confirm your changes by clicking the Apply button and Fuzzy Duplicates Finder sets correct values for all selected items.
